Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking an Apprentice Plant Mechanic to join the Infrastructure team!
A valuable opportunity to earn a nationally recognised qualification through hands-on, practical experience.
Council will fund all training expenses, subject to approval.
The successful candidate will be employed for a period of up to four (4) years, with a salary range determined by the salary structure, based on factors such as age, skills, and experience.

- Full time - Fixed Term 4 years
- Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
- Weekly pay cycle
- Salary range $601.70 - $1230.40 (depending an age and experience)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The occupant of this position will assist the Infrastructure team to deliver a range of services, primarily maintaining Council’s plant. The occupant is required to complete an apprenticeship (Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology) within the timeframes specified whilst positively contributing to Council’s operations.

ABOUT YOU
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
- Class C Licence (provisional acceptable)
- Possess a genuine commitment to complete the apprenticeship
- Have a practical aptitude and a genuine interest in mechanical repairs
- A positive attitude to work and a willingness to works as a team and to help others
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
- SafeWork WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
